Survey, the start of everything

Posted by:

This quarter, to get credit for my international class, I chose to do indepent research and learnabout how to conduct a survey. After two days of class in addition to the readings that I was provided, I realized one thing that I’ve never really thought about which is “how important is a survey?” . I have always been wondering why the school keep sending me surveys to ask about my satisfaction after some seminars or my expectation for the future events or workshop. It really takes a part of my time to complete those surveys. However, now I got the the answer for that. To talk about it in a very simple way, how can the mother know when to feed the baby if the baby does not cry and show that he/she is hungry? Doing business or any other things are just the same. Supplies will always follow the demands. How can companies know what do their clients want so that they can provide them with the right things? They will have to conduct a survey to study about that. A survey can give us an understanding about the market before we start doing something and also help us evaluate our jobs in order to make it better another time. This is why I said that it is the start of everything. In understanding this, I found my class even more interesting and helpful for my future career. No matter what field of industry I could be doing after graduated, the knowledge about this will always be useful and applicable.
