It’s About Community

Posted by:

One of the biggest surprises and best parts of my MSC journey has been the experience of being in a community of people dedicated to personal growth, learning, and scholarship. A perfect example happened just this week:

To start, you should know that we’re on spring break, and just past the half way point of our program. Most of us share a sense of academic fatigue from carrying the duel school/work load. However, when an excellent opportunity to participate in an additional educational experience arose, more than a handful of us jumped right in and committed to completing a collegiate level course OUTSIDE our MSC requirements. Not to be boastful, but I’ve never been prouder to be associated with this program. Watching the vigor with which my peers here apply themselves to the disciplines of learning and growth is inspiring and a beautiful thing to be a part of!

If YOU’RE interested in growing NOW… Hopefully you’re considering the MSC, but in the mean time, check out Coursera. It’s a non-profit initiative offering free classes from notable professors at UC-Berkley, Stanford, and the University of Michigan. And even though none of those schools is quite as wonderful as our Northwestern University, they are clearly excellent schools and this thing Coursera is doing is absolutely worth a moment of your time to check out.
(ps – my cohort friends and I are taking Model thinking).
