A special thank you goes out to Laurie Beottcher for her terrific social media presentation this past Friday. For those that didn’t have the chance to attend, you missed a great presentation. Laurie covered many areas the relate to how organizations can benefit from social media and why. Additionally, Laurie detailed how individual professionals can take advantage of social media platforms such as LinkedIn.
Many of the key points made regarded what information should be included in a great profile and what doesn’t belong or could actually decrease your hireability. Most importantly, Laurie discussed exactly how important it is to be well represented online as a professional. Whether it is for conducting business or pursuing new career opportunities, LinkedIn is an amazing avenue to market yourself in any given industry.
Personally, I know as well as anyone that networking is vital in business and going forward, doing so online is even more important. This is why a workshop like this is such a great opportunity to compare how your online visibility matches up with your peers and how you can improve your profile in the future.
