What is InfoSocial?
InfoSocial is the graduate student research conference of Northwestern’s Media, Technology, & Society (MTS) doctoral program.
The two-day event showcases a variety of student research that explores the exciting new opportunities and challenges created for scholars across disciplines as they utilize the wealth of new data sources made possible by the increasingly abundant information infrastructure of contemporary society.
We are dedicated to showcasing theoretically engaging, methodologically sound, and socially relevant work across disciplines. Contributions have included work from communication and media studies, information science, computer science, science and technology studies, human-computer interaction, sociology, psychology, political science, and anthropology.
InfoSocial has returned for 2016, with a focus on methods that push the bounds of what we can do across disciplines. The conference is tentatively scheduled for November 4-5, 2016 at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. More information to come.
